The mobilization authority known as 12304b gives combatant commanders easy access to the reserve components, but it comes at the expense of denying National Guardsmen and Reservists benefits that all other deployed troops receive. That is the message retired Brig. Gen. Roy Robinson, the NGAUS president, is set to deliver Thursday, when he testifies before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
NGAUS Conference is Scheduled Sept 7-10 2017 in Louisville, Please join us, register at NGAUTAH@NGAUT.org under NGUAS Information. or call 801-599-7869
Senator Orin Hatch of Utah has filed S. 1086 which would allow federal employees who are also members of the reserve components to utilize Tricare Reserve Select. This would enable a savings of potentially thousands of dollars to every member’s paycheck. I would encourage you to read the bill and then contact your senators, representatives, and to also inform your Adjutants General for their support. Take Action Now
